--ooOoo-- 28/7/2010 | from a customer who found that Slim Cut in his Collar Size was not quite slim enough. We offered to tailor it for him so that it was more like our new Fitted Cut style. "...Thanks for your prompt and accommodating response - great service. I will indeed provide those details you request and return the shirts ... for modification ... Many thanks. 23/06/2010 | from a customer who has bought shirts in various sizes on several orders for himself and his groomsmen. We called to double check in case there was an accidental error with the shirt size ordered. "Hi ... I have received the latest order of shirts today. Thank you for the very prompt delivery! The shirts are, as usual, of top quality. Far from being a reseller (you must have a sharp eye and/or a good CRM program, or both!), both my father <name removed> and I have been getting our shirts from Edward Stripe for about 4 years now. In 4 years neither of us have had any complaint at all with your shirts. Kind regards" - PG

Is this deal still going?" - CR We replied that yes, there was still time to act, and the customer purchased another 3 shirts for which we matched bonus neckties.
25/03/10 | from a customer who ordered a clearance shirt in the wrong size as a gift asking about an exchange "...You are wonderful, thank you. I wasn't sure what your policy would be on Clearance stock. I will send it back tomorrow... Can I say that my partner has many of your shirts (bought by my mother...) and they are fabulous, wash like a rag (for want of a better expression) and last really well. Regards" - AJ
05/03/10 | a customer ordering from Edward Stripe for the first time was not aware of a promotion offering a $50 Rebate for an Edward Stripe Collection men's shirt and necktie. We updated his order to include the $50 rebate before processing. " That is outstanding customer service so thanks very much. I've been a long time purchaser of <brand name removed> products but they have deteriorated and I'm on the hunt for a new shirt supplier. If your shirts are as good as your service I look forward to becoming a regular customer. Kind regards" - DK

I got an email promptly telling me they were being dispatched by express post. Well, it's only just gone 3pm here and they've arrived at the doorstep. Now THAT is what I call service. 28/07/09 | an email from a customer who has had an unfortunate incident with an overseas tailor and his practical advice for other Australian purchasers " Thanks for your update. My former HK tailor rang me recently informing me that he was in town - suggesting that I call on him. I then told him I could no longer patronise his 'service'. For several reasons, including: over-determined prices, poorly cut, inferior quality shirting and some needless fraud in his credit card charging using an unapproved exchange rate to his advantage. I told him I now used another outlet in Queensland. His glib and insensitive dismissal was: "Oh, but you have to go to Queensland to buy your shirts". Dumbing an argument down suggesting our internet sales are the wrong call. I suspect he will call me again. I will then ask him to call on me knowing that will never happen.
I use Edward Stripes because they guarantee their product and offer corporate loyalty to their customers. Sadly absent in overseas-based fly-by-nighters who charge your credit card in HK dollars and then bump up the agreed price (on a fixed Australian dollar value) without the courtesy of informing you of their actions. After all, not as though you can go to their HK office customer service department and seek redress. It doesn't exist. But please give me the opportunity on any future bulletin board to state my dissatisfaction with so-called foreign 'tailors'. Their names are not important. But it is very important that any Australians be fully aware of the real dangers of dealing with HK tailors who are unable to satisfactorily complete an order to the customer's satisfaction. In fact, to avoid any suspicion of product placement, can use my name. Best." - Mike Fogarty
